A metal fabrication company recently engaged M P All Safety to carry out a full health and safety audit of their factory. What began as an initial review quickly uncovered a critical issue that had gone unnoticed for years.

Our assessment found insufficient local exhaust ventilation (LEV) to remove hazardous fumes generated from welding, cutting, and paint-spraying activities. Not only were employees being exposed to unnecessary risk, this also meant the business was not compliant with key health and safety legislation, putting them at risk of serious enforcement action.

Due to the lack of effective LEV, workers were relying solely on respiratory protective equipment (RPE) that had not been supported with adequate testing or monitoring. We identified an urgent need for air sampling to measure actual exposure levels and ensure suitable controls were implemented.

By presenting these findings clearly and practically, we helped management understand both the immediate risks and the long-term consequences of inaction. As a result, they committed to upgrading their ventilation systems, improving RPE management, and arranging regular air monitoring.

This audit not only protected employees but it strengthened compliance, reduced liability, and gave the company a roadmap to a safer, more efficient working environment.

For businesses that want peace of mind and expert guidance, M P All Safety delivers audits that uncover issues early and provide solutions that work.
